The Eagle has landed...

Exactly 40 years ago, one of the greatest history of mankind was achieved, that mankind has set their rep's foots on the Moon.

Let's keep all conspiracy theories aside OK?

The mission was Apollo 11 - launched on 16th July 1969 & carried by Saturn V Rocket. The participants were Mission Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot 'Buzz' Aldrin, Jr.

Of course, the famous words by Armstrong are:

"Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed."

and:

"one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

After finish doing their moon-things, they left this insignia:

Approximately 20 years later another guy did his moonwalk... on Earth:

Last year, Malaysia has our own... While we embraced Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar as our 1st Angkasawan, the major players have their own opinion.

This pic was taken from NASA official website:

Check out the title of the crews, and most importantly - the location & design of the insignias on their shirt.

Notice anything?

By the way, anybody realize that today is also the anniversary of Isra & Mi'raj?

IMO we cant bad mouthing Dr Sheikh or our government effort. apparently, he just a 'passenger'. but we cant run, if we are not capable to walk properly first. we cant walk, if we cant stand on our feet first. so on and so forth.. so, its a very good first effort in space exploration.

too true bart, but as I said:

I neither condemn nor support the angkasawan project.

IMO better to spend hundreds of million ringgit to build a 'walking-learning' facility for our nation rather than send 1 person for a piggyback ride on a 'running' expert.
